Government of South Korea
The Govenrment of South Korea consists of a republic called the Republic of Korea or ROK. Korea has a prime minster and a president. Korea won its independence from Japan on August 15, 1945 after WWII, as the date is the national holiday, Liberation Day.
The Korean government is similar to the United States' as it has a Excutive, Legislative, and Judical branch.
Executive Branch- This branch is ran by acting president HWANG Kyo-Ahn since President PARK Gen-hye was impeached on December 9, 2016. The Branch includes a President, a prime minster, and a cabinet.
Legislative Branch- This is the National Assembly (Kuk Hoe). It includes 300 seats, witch 246 members directly in office.
Judicial Branch- It is the Supreme Court of Korea that consisted of a Chief Justice and 13 others. The Judical Branch also includes the Consitutional Court, with a court head and 8 justices.
Flag- The Flag is white with a red and blue yin yang in the center. There are 4 different trigrams from the Chinese Book of Change in each corner. The yin yang represents the opposite forces of good and bad, while the 4 trigrams (Kwae) are the four universal elements. All together make up the principle of movement and harmony.
